How BitTorrent Works
Simply put, BitTorrent allows for extremely fast download times for files such as movies, videos, tv shows, and music by downloading many pieces of the file from different peers in your swarm. So, instead of downloading a file from a single source like you would on any website, BitTorrent allows you to download from many different sources at once. While downloading these pieces, your BitTorrent client will rearrange them to form your new file.
Download with BitTorrent today!
- First you need to find and download a BitTorrent Client
- Then by using a BitTorrent search engine, begin searching for files you're interested in
- After you find a file you're looking for, click on the link
- Opening the file should automatically open your new BitTorrent client
- If not, save the ".torrent" file to your harddrive and then open it with your client, usually by just double-clicking.
- Your Client will now begin to seek out other people (peers) who already have the file you want
- Your client will connect to your peers and the download will begin!
- While your download is in progress, your client will also be uploading parts of the file you have to your peers that need them. This is vital to BitTorrent.
